Sandoval County marriage licenses are valid, according to NM’s attorney general.

Couples married in other states & countries? You’re married.

Married this week in New Mexico? You’re married too.

So that’s it. We’re done. That was the whole agenda, it’s now complete, and the lawyers are going to work out the details. Enjoy equality!

All eyes are on Illinois, with less than a week left to pass its marriage equality bill. Meanwhile, public support grows in Tennessee and an equality bill passes the legislature in Nevada, but major obstacles remain in both states. And we’re just one month away from the deadline for a Prop 8 decision. Depending on the ruling, marriage equality could soon be the law of the land in California, and possibly beyond.

Quick summary: 4 big wins in which voters did the impossible in Maine, Maryland, Minnesota and Washington: Agreed that our families need the protections of marriage!

So that’s pretty exciting. But this victory for equality didn’t “happen”. To put some numbers on it: 27,000 volunteers made 900,000 phone calls and knocked on 400,000 doors to get 1.3 million Minnesotans to vote No.
